This course is for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) to develop the necessary skills and knowledge to perform basic cleaning of hard floor surfaces. They will learn the following.

Who Should Attend

The module is designed to equip PWD trainees with the skills and knowledge to embark on a career as a cleaning worker. It targets cleaning stewards servicing and working in the Airport Terminals, Offices, Business Building and Complex, Shopping Centres, Residential, Public Transport, Hospitality, Retail, Hawker Centre and Food Court or anyone who needs the skills and knowledge to maintain hard floor surfaces. It is in line with PWM Job Level - General Cleaner / Indoor Cleaner / Outdoor Cleaner / Healthcare Cleaner / Restroom Cleaner / Table-Top Cleaner / Dishwasher / Refuse Collector.


Course Duration

3 days consisting of 22 hours of training and 1.5 hours of assessment


Course Outline

After completing the Enabling Academy: Horizontal Surface Maintenance - Perform Basic Cleaning of Hard Floor Surfaces training, the PWD learner will be able to:

  1. Understand the basics of cleaning of Hard Floor Surfaces
  2. Know the different types of Hard Floor Surfaces
  3. Make the necessary preparations to clean Hard Floor
  4. Perform cleaning of Hard Floor Surface
  5. Reinstate the work area



Certification Obtained and Conferred by

Successful learner will receive a Certificate of Completion for Horizontal Surface Maintenance - Perform Basic Cleaning of Hard Floor Surfaces


Pre-requisites

The Programme serves Trainees who meet the following eligibility criteria:

(a) Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident, regardless of race, language or religion;

(b) aged 16 years old and above;

(c) is currently not pursuing full-time education or enrolled in any government or Special Education schools;

(d) has a permanent disability of any one of the following: Physical Disability, Sensory Disability, Developmental Disability and Intellectual Disability, or a combination of the above mentioned;

(e) assessed to have the potential and commitment to be placed into open, supported or customised employment in related job positions if put through the Programme;

(f) assessed to be resolved and committed to undergo and complete the Programme to the best of their abilities;

(g) approved by the Company for funding support before commencement of the Programme; and

(h) Trainees must commence training on or before 31st March 2025 to be eligible for funding.
